Hi! In addition to being a lifelong learner who refuses to specialize, I spend my time caring for felines, improving my ability to cook for friends (preferably without recipes), testing limits, and trying to understand the many avenues I can take in an attempt to regenerate time-tested systems that help human communities and their surroundings (while minimizing the effects of inappropriate systems). I will soon be a resident at the Agrarian Effort Co-op on the UCD campus, and I’m looking forward to identifying more with its name. Also looking forward to celebrating the UN International Year of Cooperatives, and feeling no-less-than-blessed to be a part of this worldwide movement….viva la (Cofed) revolucion!

Kase Wheatley

Kase Wheatley is a 3rd year Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems Major at UC Davis. Kase has been a part of CoFED for over a year and is heavily invested in the cause. When he isn’t writing grant proposals or making Flatland Food Collective Tamales, you can find him working on the UC Davis Student Farm or taking care of chickens in his community.  Kase is a resident at the Domes and Tri-cooperative communities in Davis and he strives to leave a positive impact on everything he is involved in.

I spend my days studying microbial communities in soil and my nights enjoying the fruits of healthy soils with human communities. Just tickled to be involved in the creation of the Flatland Food Collective–where we will nourish each other and the earth!

I live at the Tri-Coops at UC Davis, and recently returned from a semester in Bolivia and Peru where I studied food systems and agricultural practices, living and learning with indigenous communities. Super stoked for Cofed.

 
Sarah Kosoff
Major: Psychology

I have worked within the UC Davis food service for the last three years. I have seen the industry from the perspective of an employee in the kitchen, on the serving line and also in relation to food service management and planning. Through my experiences living at the tri co-ops I have worked to organize, inspire, educate and mobilize my community members, and myself, on matters pertaining to food justice. I would be most interested in marketing co-fed, and inspirigizing Davisites.
